Website Development

Solid foundations are the cornerstone of a house, but websites require a trustworthy, streamlined and flexible structure that will allow them not only to adapt to specific project needs, but also to be modified and updated. From a WordPress site to the use of platforms such as Drupal, Liferay, SharePoint, Adobe Experience Manager and Magento, the objective is to develop the best user experience possible, in terms of navigation and service, and websites that are responsive and multimedia-rich thanks to the HTML5 standards.

What is HTML5?

HTML stands for “Hypertext Mark-up Language” and 5 is its most recent version. HTML5 was developed to provide greater multimedia richness to web pages. Indeed, having abandoned alternatives such as Flash, HTML5 easily allows photos, animations, videos and music to be integrated into web pages. Moreover, programming in HTML5 simplifies user geolocation and enables a series of related services (for example, discounts for users from a specific country or region or access to local city or regional news). Moreover, it allows information on visited pages to be conserved without need for a cache, as well as cloud apps to be implemented on web portals that transform browsers into operative platforms.

Website Development

Efficient technological development requires a careful study of the communications or marketing strategy, the editorial project and the graphic design plan for a website or web portal. Once the project requirements and expectations of reference targets are clear, it is necessary to conduct a feasibility study on available technology to understand how well they suit the project.

Moreover, it is essential to identify any components that may be reused, preferably open source ones, as well as the critical issues and shortcomings of available technology. Once the best solution has been identified, work begins on the website technical project. This is a document that summarises all system requisites, planned components, back-end operation processes (for the management of content and services) and front-end processes (for user interaction interface and functions). Once the technical project has been completed and shared with the client, work begins on the development of all the platform components, conducting functional tests, stress tests and final testing, including activation of security systems and the firewall before the go live.

Website Development at Cultur-e

Depending on the project, at Cultur-e, we develop websites, portals, intranet platforms and e-commerce services, managing all phases – analysis, implementation, testing and go-live. Alternatively, we coordinate client development teams or external teams to implement the best technological solutions possible in terms of performance, usability, accessibility and data security.

Over the years, we have accrued use and development experience with the main CMS platforms, including: WordPress, Drupal, Liferay, SharePoint, Adobe Experience Manager, Magento, Documentum, Oracle and Adobe CQ5.

We provide technicians with UX (User Experience) and accessibility guidelines, while we personally take care of testing the website beta, publishing content, verifying the functionality and coherence of the graphic project and specific objectives, and overviewing the go live. On request, we also manage daily activities for web portals after launch, or we can train client personnel to use the CMS and technological platform.
