In 2016, AVIO decided to reinforce its internal communications process by developing an intranet platform and organising initiatives to involve employees. Starting with an analysis of the internal needs and context, we developed an intranet project that focused on the protection of sensitive data and allowed experiences to be shared, coherently with company objectives.
Context
Speaking with Employees
AVIO designs, produces and provides maintenance for components and systems used by civil and military aviation. The company, which has various offices and plants throughout Italy and a few abroad, has over 4800 employees.
The objective of Avio’s top management was to develop a sense of community amongst the company’s colleagues, promoting the exchange of views and sharing of sector experiences and expertise. This however needs to be guided and controlled with great care both with regard to sensitive data and to the information that cannot be shared outside of the company.
Designing the Intranet Portal
2016 – Analysis and internal workshops, communications strategy, editorial project, design and user experience for the new Avio intranet with specific areas developed for corporate communications, employee updating and training, work communities and spaces for sharing and bottom-up discussions.

A Tighter Company Thanks to Digital Tools
